Writers have to write and sometimes we hit the keyboard to not only write books, but we also take from our journal and formalise it.
We all have creative thought and often we think about putting those thoughts onto paper. Many of us are reluctant to do so and therefore we never get to see your creativity and thoughts. Which is a shame. I encourage you to get the journal and write, you may be surprised with the results.
My own creative writing started, as it does at school when I first learnt to put my thoughts on paper. I kept at it over the years but never took it seriously until my management and political career was at an end and I focused on writing.
Overcoming the internal critic is the hardest thing to do but once a writer is comfortable with what others have to say then it becomes very rewarding. These are my occasional scribblings.
What’s on my mind – Topics come up and I feel the need to write about them, so I tap away and this is the result.
600 Words – This is the discipline I use to maintain the craft. To try and get a story or an article to 600 words so that it makes sense and is enjoyable.
Diary of Writing – I learn lessons every time I sit and work through my work. The lesson I learn I try to add to these pages in words and video.
The Craft – This is my technical writing I learn from the research I make. It’s grammar tips (oh my God, grammar) and other techniques I like to share with writers. I hope the tips are good for you.
Quotes from Writers – I like to study other writers and their quirky comments about their work. The ones I find I share here.
Writing is a serious and demanding craft, but we should always have fun with it. Have some fun as you look through my files.
